You can thank my husband for the idea.

If it were up to me, these little beauties would have been in a blackberry cobbler. This is definitely one of those times when I am glad I listened to him.

(Yeah, yeah, this is my way of saying he was right.)

Grilled Apricot Chicken

February 21, 2017
Grilled Apricot Chicken

Perfectly grilled moist chicken is one of my favorite things ever. Especially when basted with a sweet and tangy sauce. There is something about classic smoky flavor and caramelized sauce that hits all of the food high notes for me. This Grilled Apricot Chicken is no exception.

Thick apricot preserves and dried apricots are the sweet base of our tasty sauce. To get the wow factor, we added some spicy and savory flavors. What did we add? Lemon zest, a little bit of soy sauce, and a few other surprises.

Be sure to see how fast we turned our left over basting glaze into a yummy serving sauce.

Garlic Herb Steak Butter

July 20, 2016
Garlic Herb Steak Butter

This is a meal fit for a king. (And a queen. Me. Duh.) My husband is adamant that he not use steak sauce on a ribeye. He usually rattles on about preserving the sanctity of a great cut of meat. I, on the other hand, like to dip my food into something.  (Childish huh?) This Garlic Herb Steak Butter is a delicious compromise.

It adds rich buttery flavor to a rich piece of meat, the garlic smell and taste drips off of the side of the steak…and just the right amount of fresh herbs balances the plate.

And the kid in me gets to dip my steak in something very grown up and “preserve the sanctity of beef”. ✌ ❤ ?
