Minute Rice ready to serve brown rice + quinoa two pack

The texture and chew of the brown rice and quinoa is perfect for our Hawaiian Rice + Quinoa Bowls. The rice and quinoa is light and fluffy, and the combination of the two grains is amazing. Plus, Minute Ready to Serve Rice + Quinoa is the only fully prepared product of this type to combine the two.

It isn't hard to create our recipe for rice + quinoa bowls.  Each package comes with two portioned cups, and both the cup and the film are BPA free. Our recipe at the end of this post is for one person and uses one of the rice + quinoa cups. The recipe is easily doubled as needed.

One of my favorite ways to eat rice and grains is with a sweet and sour flavor combination. Use fresh or canned chopped pineapple for that classic Hawaiian flavor.

Tip: Add a little of the pineapple juice, too.

In addition to pineapple, we used fresh chopped sweet bell peppers and tender pre-cooked chicken in our quinoa bowls. Hawaiian Rice + Quinoa Bowls are yummy with cooked pork tenderloin chunks, or with no meat at all for a veggie lover's meal.

To get the sweet and sour, stir in your favorite Asian style chili sauce and a little bit of teriyaki or soy sauce. The chili sauce, soy sauce and pineapple juice combine with the pineapple for that island flavor I love.

For extra flavor and color, sprinkle with fresh chopped cilantro or green onions. Fresh and light, this is a tasty garnish for Sweet + Sour Hawaiian Rice + Quinoa Bowls.

This is a wholesome and filling lunch with two types of whole grains, sweet pineapple, fresh vegetables and lean protein. And it tastes amazing.

I'm with you. If I can use pineapple in something, I'm going to try it at least once.
