You're Gonna Adore this Peach Salsa!
I love salsa and use it on everything. Love it on my sandwiches, with my eggs, etc. Our home is never without a jar or two of traditional style tomato salsa.
You know what else makes a great salsa recipe? Peaches! Nature's fuzzy little gift makes a nice base ingredient for a batch of fresh salsa. Not too sweet, the flavor of a lightly-sweet peach combines with tomatoes, onions, jalapenos, and cilantro. In a word, awesome.
Ingredients Needed to Make Peach Salsa:
- Peaches
- Tomatoes
- Jalapenos
- Bell pepper
- Onion
- Cilantro
- Lime - juice + zest
- Salt, pepper, sugar + cumin
Not only is this salsa recipe delicious, it is also super easy to make. Just chop it all up, combine, and chill. You can also mix and match ingredients based on what you have on hand or to your personal taste.
TIP: Pick nice, firm peaches for the best texture.
How to Make Peach Salsa:
- In a large bowl, stir the diced peaches with the juice and zest of one lime. Let sit while prepping all other ingredients.
- Add the tomatoes, peppers, onion and all other ingredients to the bowl. Stir to combine well.
- Next, place about half of the mixture into a blender. Pulse to desired consistency. Stir back into the bowl.
- Cover and refrigerate for one hour. Taste, reseason as desired, and serve.
See? Super easy. You can hand chop and dice the ingredients, or run them through your food chopper. I like to cut the peaches and tomatoes to approximately the same size. The onions, jalapenos, etc., I finely dice so the flavor is more subtle throughout the recipe.
TIP: One the peaches are diced, go ahead and stir in the lime juice and zest. The acid from the citrus prevents browning in the peaches.

If you like your salsa chunky, you are ready to go. You can also change the teture by blending part (or all) of the salsa once it is combined. I took about half of the peach salsa and blended it using my little food proessor. Then, I stirred it back into the bowl. Perfect!
Tips + Ideas for Best results:
- Adjust the heat level to suit your taste. I completely seeded both jalapenos for a mild, smoky flavor.
- I LOVE cilantro. I used a cup of loosely packed cilantro leaves, roughly chopped. If you aren't a fan of this yummy herb, reduce the amount.
- Add just a touch of cumin to give the salsa that traditional taste.
- Use the freshest produce you can find for the best tasting result.
- We used Roma tomatoes to pair with our peaches. You an use whatever tomato you have on hand.
- Sweet onions, like Vidalia, are great in this recipe. You can use red onion if you prefer.
Enjoy Fresh Peach Salsa with your favorite tortilla chips, pita, or spoon a generous serving over grilled fish or chicken. It is also a nice taco topping.
