This easy recipe for oven baked chicken wings turns out perfect every single time. A toss in a simple spiced coating and baked to perfection, then toss in any sauce you want. (Or eat them as is.)
4poundsfresh chicken wingscut at the joint, tips discarded
¾cupsall purpose flour
½ tablespoonchili powder
½tablespoonsmoked paprika
1 teaspoonsalt
½ teaspoongarlic powder
½teaspoonblack pepper
½cupbuttermelted
½cupbarbecue sauceoptional
Instructions
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Lightly spray a large baking sheet with non stick spray.
In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the flour and all spices. Close the bag and shake to incorporate the spices into the flour.
After cutting the wings at the joint, pat them completely dry.
Add the wings into the flour mixture. Seal the bag and turn several times, tossing the wings to coat. Use your hands to press the flour + spice mixture into the wings.
Melt the butter in a large bowl. Add the coated wings into the bowl and toss quickly to lightly coat the wings.
Place the coated wings onto the baking sheet. Bake for 30 minutes. Turn the wings and bake for another 15 minutes.
If you are coating with sauce, after baking brush the wings on all sides with barbecue sauce. Return to the oven for 5 minutes, then serve.
