Or August the 10th. Or May the 2nd. What about July 18th. Yep. Celebrating all the days with this delicious dessert recipe.
Sweetheart Brownie Bliss
This dessert recipe for Sweetheart Brownie Bliss is easy. Seriously. You'll kick yourself from having not thought of it before.
We started with a box mix of fudgy brownies. Yep. No shame in a shortcut, people.
(Prepare the brownies according to package directions for "fudgy".)
The heart-shaped pan is a nice touch. I inherited mine from my (wonderful) step-mother I believe. Or maybe it was my father-in-laws. Not sure, but now it is mine! (Muahahahahhhaaaaa.)
Or, I would bet all my dollars that this Sweetheart Brownie Bliss would be just as delicious in square form. Or round. Just pick a pan and go with it.

Some of you might be wondering what kind of witchcraft I practice to get this brownie to come out of the pan perfectly. I mean...absolutely perfectly.
(Anyone who has cooked a pan of brownies before will appreciate this wizardry.)
Here's the how-to:
- Use a non-stick pan.
- Spray the pan liberally with butter-flavored non stick spray. To the point where it is dripping.
- Pray.
- Let the brownies cool in the pan for 10 minutes with the pan sitting on a wire rack.
- Pray.
- Invert quickly on your cake plate.
- Pray harder.
- Give the pan a quick smack and a little jiggle and pull it off with your eyes closed.
Booyah. Works every time. (Well, I am a liar. It worked THIS TIME.)
Now, time to assemble the Sweetheart Brownie Dessert Bliss for all of your Valentine loves. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Whip up a super easy no-bake cheesecake filling. (Get the recipe at the bottom of this post.) You will look at it and think there is no way I'm going to get all of this cheesecake on top of that brownie. Trust me, it will fit.
Just pile it and swirl it and get it in the fridge to set up.
Before serving, cover your Sweetheart Brownie Bliss with a can of cherry pie topping. (Use a good quality brand, you can tell the difference.)
You get all of the classic flavors of a cherry cheesecake with the fudgy brownie "crust". You would think this would be an over-the-top rich recipe. But it isn't too sweet. It is perfect. The light and creamy filling is the perfect balance for the brownies and cherries.
Not to mention, it looks great. Your family's eyes will light up when they see this special browmie dessert recipe.
They may try to sneak a bite at various phases along the way. Make them wait!
This recipe could be easily doubled in a 9x14 pan (or...just use two smaller pans). You can also swap up your Sweetheart Brownie Bliss with these ideas:
- Blondie brownie bottom with peach topping
- Peanut butter brownie bottom with strawberry topping
- Cookie dough bottom with just a little drizzle of caramel and some chocolate chips on top

📖 Recipe
Sweetheart Brownie Bliss
Ingredients
- 1 box fudge brownie mix
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup oil
- ¼ cup water
- Butter flavored non-stick spray
- 8 oz cream cheese softened
- ⅓ cup white sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon lemon juice
- 8 oz tub whipped topping
- 21 oz can cherry pie filling
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Liberally spray a 8 or 9 inch non-stick cake pan with butter flavored non stick spray. Set aside.
- In a bowl, combine the brownie mix, eggs, water, and oil. Stir with a spoon by hand until combined.
- **Your mix may call for different amounts. Mix to package directions for "fudgy".
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 30 minutes or until a pick inserted in the center comes out slightly moist.
- **Don't overbake or underbake. If the pick comes out wet, they aren't done. If the pick comes out totally dry, they are overdone. Tip: Start checking 5 minutes before time has expired. If the pick seems like they are getting close, take them out. They will cook a little longer in the warm pan.
- Place the pan on a wire rack. Cool 10 minutes. Carefully invert onto a serving plate. Tap gently to remove the brownie. Cool completely.
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, sugar, vanilla and lemon juice with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes. The mixture will be smooth and creamy.
- Fold in the whipped topping by hand with a rubber spatula.
- Spread the mixture on the brownie. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
- Before serving, pour the cherry pie filling over the top.

I always add a Tablespoon of espresso to my brownie mixes.... it heightens the chocolate flavor!
Teri
Love it! Makes me want a pan of your brownies.
Teri
Agreed! Love it. Do you use the liquid actual espresso, or the ground version? I have used the instant coffee crystals before, but never espresso. Great idea.
