How to Make Iced Coffee with Fresh Mint and Chocolate. Because you can't have mine.
I have a pet peeve. Coffee beverages that just don't taste like coffee. Where all you can taste is the creamer or sweetener. I'm like "where did my coffee go?"
Sad face.
When I drink iced coffee, I want to taste the coffee. Not a milk shake.
This is not a problem with Folgers® Coffeehouse Blend. No matter how you choose to brew, the rich, bold coffee flavor is there. Wake up, sunshine!
This is another one of our recipes where we wish scratch and sniff your computer screen was a thing. GAH! When you open this...the coffee smells so good. You know what I'm talking about.
You can find Folgers Coffeehouse Blend at your local Kroger. It is available in traditional coffee grounds or in a 12 pack of K-cups for your single-serve brewing system.
Folgers creates a wide variety of coffee blends, perfect for traditional brewing methods to what's hot right now. Or in our case, what's cold right now!
The best part is that Folgers Coffeehouse Blend can be used in a traditional coffee maker, French press, or cold brew.
Cold brewing coffee is a simple method to get smooth coffee taste that is chilled and ready to pour over ice. It takes a little time, but if you mix it and put in the fridge at night, it will be ready to greet you in the morning with that unmistakable Folgers coffee aroma.
So you wanna know how to make iced coffee even more refreshing?
Fresh mint!
Mix coffee grounds with fresh mint and cold water. Stir and chill for 12 hours.
Yep ....that's it.
Before serving, simply strain the coffee-mint mixture through a coffee filter or cheese cloth into another container. Look at that gorgeous, rich coffee color. Perfect for iced coffee!
But where's the chocolate??? I told you we had fun making this iced coffee recipe.
The chocolate is in the ice cubes. Yep, we blended cocoa powder, more coffee (because...well...coffee) and creamer and froze them in ice cube trays.
No more watered-down iced coffee for me!
You can add more creamer and sweetener to your slightly minty, coffee-loaded beverage if you'd like.
Me? I liked the way the flavor of this Mint Chocolate Iced Coffee changed as the ice cubes melted.
The sweetener and creamer and chocolate swirls into the minted-coffee as the cubes melt, making each sip just a little sweeter. But you will always taste the coffee! And that's the best part.
We can't wait for you to try this Mint Chocolate Iced Coffee and let us know what you think. Feel free to experiment with different amounts of creamer, sweetener, chocolate, mint and coffee until you get YOUR perfect iced coffee.
Enjoy!
